The tour starts at 08.00 am in the morning. We will pick you up from your accommodation and then drive 40 minutes to Serekunda Market which is the biggest and busiest local market. A guided walk through Serekunda Market reveals scenes of haggling for local products such as vegetable, fish, dairy products and spices as ingredients for local cuisines.
Visit Kachikally Crocodile Pool, a traditional shrine; learn the amazing history of the spiritual crocs and the story of fertility of the waters of the pond. See the crocs feed; stroke and shake hands with them.
Take a short drive to Abuko cattle and livestock market to learn the cultural significance of animal production.
Take a short drive to Lamin Lodge for tea/coffee break; stroll around to see firsthand how women collect oysters. Get ready for a safari through 30 or more villages and hamlets to see real Gambia. A stop in one of the villages gives a depiction of a typical extended family. Drive to Paradise Beach, visit a local school and learn about the three types of education in Gambia. Get ready to swim and refresh or relax on free sun beds on Paradise Beach for 2hrs and half; Buffet lunch provided. Drive back along the 22 km stretch of beach to Tanji at low tide. See boats dock with the day’s catch, walk in processing buildings; smell processed fish and see women at work. Drive back to your hotel with fun memories of the day.
